Concrete has been used as a building material since at least 800 BC by the Greeks, some of whose structures are still standing today!

We are all familiar with concrete as it is used in everything from our sidewalks to our bridges, in our houses and high rises, but although its use and popularity continue to increase, many aren't yet familiar with this versatile substance when used as an interior finish. Concrete can be formed to take on any shape and polished to a high gloss, resembling marble or granite, yet with greater mass, and maintaining its own unique characteristics.

Polished concrete gives an unparalleled tactile sensation: a warm feel and texture unlike any other material. It can be cast into any form imaginable, curved and refined to be as smooth as stone which has been shaped, smoothed, and polished by the sea.

This tub has integral radiant heating which keeps the tub, the water in it, and the person
in the water, toasty warm! Ask us about including radiant heating in your tub or floors.

This floor in Bloomingdale's 59th Street was done with a custom colored concrete topping which was then polished.

This floor surface, in Komegashi restaurant, is a concrete veneer, which can be installed over concrete or sound wood
and here has been treated with an acid stain to create a rich, leather look. Many other colors are available.

After the contractor poured it, we polished this concrete monument and it still shines in spite of years of New York winters!

This floor in a hair salon was done with a concrete topping which was then polished to a high shine.

This existing slab has been treated with several coats of linseed oil after polishing.

These are some of the many color and texture variations available using integral dyes in polished concrete,
and standard gray (undyed) which is at the lower right.
